Privacy Policy

Effective date: 01/02/2025

1. Introduction

Horizon Talent FZCO, trading as Reign Partners ("Reign," "we," "our," "us"), is a specialist talent partner to private equity and venture capital firms and their portfolio companies. We take the protection of your personal data seriously, and this Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect it.

If you are a candidate. This policy applies to you if you are looking for a permanent or interim role, if you have been put forward to one of our clients, or if you have previously worked with us as a candidate or contractor.

If you are a client or business contact. This policy applies to you if you are a representative of one of our clients, prospective clients, or business partners.

This policy covers how we handle your personal data when you visit reign.partners (the "Website") and when you interact with us more generally, including by phone, email, or in person.

The following entity processes your personal data as data controller:

Horizon Talent FZCO, registered at IFZA Business Park, Building A2, Nadd Hessa, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

EU representative. As we are established outside the EU/EEA but offer our services to, and process personal data of, individuals located in the EU/EEA, we are required under Article 27 of the GDPR to appoint a representative within the EU.

International data transfers. Personal data collected from candidates, clients, and business contacts in the EU/EEA and UK is transferred to and processed by Horizon Talent FZCO in the UAE. The UAE does not currently hold a general adequacy decision from the European Commission, which means such transfers require additional safeguards. We rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for these transfers, together with a transfer impact assessment confirming that UAE law does not undermine the protections the SCCs provide.

We rely on the following legal bases to process your data:

Legitimate interest - for example, keeping your details on file and contacting you about relevant roles or business opportunities.

Contract - for example, delivering a search mandate under an agreement with your organisation.

Legal obligation - for example, retaining records as required under applicable employment and tax legislation.

Consent - for example, sending you marketing communications, or sharing your CV with a client.

Where we rely on legitimate interest, we carry out a balancing assessment to confirm that our interest in processing your data does not override your right to privacy. A copy of this assessment is available on request.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide directly. When you contact us, submit a CV, or engage with us as a client, we may collect your name, contact details, employment and education history, and any other information you choose to share with us.

Technical information. When you visit our Website, we may collect information about your device and browsing activity, including IP address, browser type, and referring pages. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Additional information for candidates under consideration for a role. Where you are progressed for a specific mandate, we may also collect:

  • Proof of identity and right to work documentation

  • References and background-check information, where relevant to the role

  • Compensation and benefits information relevant to the role

  • For interim or contract assignments: company or umbrella entity details, tax status, and bank details for payment purposes

If you'd like to know exactly what we hold about you, contact contact@reign.partners.

3. How we obtain your information

  • Directly from you - for example, when you register your interest, apply for a role, or speak with a member of our team.

  • From a third party acting on your behalf - for example, another search firm or a referring contact.

  • From publicly available sources - for example, LinkedIn, other professional networks, or your organisation's website.

  • By referral - for example, a recommendation from a colleague, former employer, or existing client.

  • Service providers, such as our CRM, IT, and payroll providers, who process data on our behalf under appropriate data processing agreements

  • Legal or regulatory authorities, where required by law

  • Payroll or umbrella providers, where relevant to an interim or contract engagement, and only with your agreement

6. Data security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. Where we use third-party platforms to store or process data on our behalf, we ensure they meet an appropriate standard of data protection.

7. How long we keep your information

We keep your data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes it was collected for, or to meet our legal obligations. As a general rule, we do not retain candidate data for more than [X years] from our last meaningful contact with you.

As a UAE-registered entity serving clients and candidates across Europe, we align our retention practices with GDPR standards for our EU/EEA and UK contacts, while also meeting our obligations under UAE data protection law. Specific retention periods (for example, for payroll, tax, or immigration-related documentation) depend on the jurisdiction the engagement relates to. If you believe we should delete your data earlier than our standard retention period, contact us and we will consider your request.

8. Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you.
